Irreversible Entanglements in concert in Barcelona – January 19
Irreversible Entanglements is a band that fuses jazz and black music with a revolutionary and provocative vision. Originally from Philadelphia, New York and Washington DC, her music transcends the boundaries of traditional genres to bring a forceful social critique that vindicates the cultural legacy of the black community. With powerful lyrics and rhythms that oscillate between free jazz and the avant-garde, the group offers a sound experience that stirs consciences and invites reflection.
The group is made up of five musicians of great recognition and experience in the experimental music scene. Camae Ayewa, known artistically as Moor Mother, is an Afrofuturist poet and activist who brings an intense political message to her performances. Luke Stewart, a bass player of unmistakable intensity, adds a deep foundation that draws the listener into the rebelliousness of his compositions. Keir Neuringer, saxophonist with a strongly political tone and avant-garde technique, defies jazz conventions with powerful and dynamic solos. Aquiles Navarro (trumpet) and Tcheser Holmes (drums) complete the group, an explosive duo that combines jazz, Latin and Afro-Caribbean influences, bringing a rhythmic energy that propels their music to new dimensions.
After the success of their debut album Irreversible Entanglements (2017), the band consolidated with Who Sent You? (2020) and Open The Gates (2021), critically acclaimed albums. These works, co-edited by the International Anthem and Don Giovanni labels, have demonstrated the group's ability to innovate and challenge musical conventions, becoming a reference within the avant-garde jazz scene.
Irreversible Entanglements is coming to Molino next January 19 to offer a concert where art and activism merge in a unique and transformative experience.
